FAQs

Q: How are artists selected for Academic Inclusion Art Exhibit?
A: Academic Inclusion is planned and curated by a committee of volunteer organizers. The group first meets weekly in February and March and plans every aspect of the Academic Inclusion: Undoing Marginalization on campus symposium program. This planning committee breaks up into five curatorial committees, one for each of the categories to which artists may submit, that evaluate the submissions and decide which work is accepted.

Q: Who organizes Academic Inclusion?
A: Academic Inclusion Symposium is sponsored by the Professors for the Future Program. A planning committee of about 8 volunteers organizers works closely with --to plan, jury, and curate the entire symposium. The Academic Inclusion planning committee changes from year to year, and is open to anyone who is interested in organizing this kind of event.

Q: Who can submit to Academic Inclusion: Undoing Marginalization on Campus Symposium?
A: Students and staff who study or work at UC Davis can submit their work. Artists may submit their work under five categories:
    * visual arts
    * music/sound
    * film/video/projection
    * performance
